Houlgate
Golf course is situated in the middle of an ancient forest, it is both a
hilly and picturesque course that was originally designed by Dave Thomas and
Peter Allis is 1980. The FFG slope rating of Houlgate is 130 and thick
hedges on the first 6 holes and the last 3 holes border it’s fairways.
It is very varied course, each hole being technically different but all
complementing each other. Some holes go uphill, others go downhill, like the
15th hole, an exceptional par 5 that offers incredible views over the
Channel. Other holes are flat and situated high on top of the hill. The
setting is unique, very orchard-like. The first three holes border water in
the valley in the grounds of the Château de Beuzeval. The course is in great
condition and if you are not playing well, just enjoy the scenery.
