This stunning
chateau is situated in the region of Gers, in the heart of Gascony. Despite its
low population, the region offers numerous sightseeing and leisure
possibilities, quality restaurants and shops. At the Chateau, you will find a
detailed list of useful addresses and directions. The chateau was first owned by
a religious order towards the end of middle-ages when King Henry IV had his
hunting lodge there. The castle was then built in 1843 and was totally renovated
in 1992. It now offers a high standard of comfort and quality. The castle itself
is set in 2 hectares (5acres) of Private Park that includes forest land and two
private lakes. The beautiful park comes complete with large ancient trees,
flowers, pigeonnier and large meadows providing a magical atmosphere.
In the spacious main wing of the Chateau is an entrance hall and adjoining
flight of stairs, a main living room with open fire place and TV, a dining-room
and kitchen. In addition, adjacent to the dining-room is a smaller, cosier
living room, formerly the Chateau's chapel. In the second wing is an additional
large living room with fireplace, which could be used as a study or office
suitable for seminars, a smaller office, a bathroom with bath and shower, and a
storage room. The upper floor accommodates six large bedrooms: four with double
beds and two each with two single beds. Two of the rooms have en-suite
bathrooms. There are two additional bathrooms and a WC. For your pleasure and
convenience, you will find two television sets, CD-player, digital telephone,
fax machine and a computer with internet connection. The castle is only rented on
a self-catering basis to one group at a time ensuring total privacy. Extra
services can be provided including cooking, breakfast, childcare, cleaning and a
chauffeur service.
The chateau has its own private driving range and lies only 20 minutes from two
18-hole golf courses. 4 more golf courses are located within an hours drive.
The local village of Vic-Fezensac (a picturesque village with small but good
shopping facilities) is 5 minutes by car. Auch, the capital of Gascony, is just
20 minutes away. There, one can find all the necessary shops, cafés, a number of
highly-recommended restaurants, a museum and its magnificent cathedral.
