Description
There exists an enchanting chateau. It’s called the 'petit chambord'. It is
unquestionably easy to see that this chateau is a treasure to discover. The
reason you want to stay here though is the feeling of welcoming you receive as
you enter through the grand entry. You will be treated like royalty and greeted
like an old friend. In this chateau you may make your own fairytales come true.
Whether your wish was always to sleep in a tower like sleeping beauty, come down
a grand staircase to meet your prince charming like Cinderella, or frolic in the
forest like snow white. Come feel the magic that this chateau holds. Each room
has the original feeling of the past with the modern conveniences of today.
Designed by Visconti, built by the famous Rene Hode, they created a completely
symmetrical neo-gothic masterpiece. The exterior is surrounded by limestone
reaching to 150ft with such captivating sculptured details it’s indescribable.
This neo-gothic design contains 365 windows, 52 fireplaces and 12 turrets all
which have yearly significance. Within this stone structure is 7000m2;
throughout the ground floor are masterly carved wood panelling and doors
garnished with charming sculptures and hand painted ceilings. In the centre is a
staircase of such unique design the chateau has been nicknamed the 'petite
chambord'. The chateau is now welcoming guests for many different occasions.
Visitors can have a guided tour of the ground floor and the basement. Our
special guests for the bed and breakfast can be treated like royalty. Other
sorts of receptions are available as well. Centrally located to many points of
interest. The towns of Angers, Vitre, Lemans, Laval, and Nantes.
Accommodation
The rooms are luxuriant, elegant and ready to pamper you. They all come with
plush robes and slippers, a hairdryer, herbal soaps and shampoo. As you arrive
you will find fruit and champagne compliments of the house. You are also invited
to join us for a mouth watering dinner served by a CIA graduate (Culinary
Institute of America).
Bedrooms
The Tour Suite: In the tour you will discover a room of silk, a king size canopy
bed (220m) with silk curtains to close yourselves in. A fire place filled with
candle to set the mood. A spare room for a third person with a table to have
that fist cup of coffee, as you wake up to a view of the lake. The bathroom is
done in aged marble. It also has a fireplace with candles, a separate WC and a
shower.
Madame Rochefoucauld Suite: The beauty of this room is the hand painted ceiling
dating back to 1854, the year the chateau was completed. The view outside it’s
grand window is of the south lawn and 2 hectare lake. Enjoy a soak in this
suite's oversized tub situated next to a hand carved fireplace. An adjoining
room has a beautiful sled bed filled with pillows for that other guest or just
to relax in and read.
The Romance Suite: You can’t escape the feeling of romance as you enter this
suite. With a cosy sofa to snuggle into as you read your sweetheart poetry. In
the other room you have a small intimate table for two to sip champagne. The
walls of warm red velvet relax you. Soak in the claw foot tub surrounded with
candles and scent of fresh flowers. Afterwards, crawl into the grandest bed of
all and sleep like a baby.
The Royal Suite: The original kings bedroom is available with all the authentic
furnishing. The canopy bed is all hand carved oak standing 14ft tall. A second
bedroom with 2 twin beds is adjoining with just a dressing room and bathroom
separating them. This suite makes you feel as if this is your chateau.
