Description
The château which dates from the XIVth and XIXth centuries, is ideally
situated in southern Brittany, 20 km from Vannes and stands in the midst of a
magnificent landscaped park covering 20 hectares. The château is a listed
Historic Monument and has been totally renovated and refurnished to enable it to
host your wedding in its reception rooms.
Region
The Château is situated some 20 kilometres from Vannes, in the Morbihan area of
Brittany, and a superb medieval town with a port, pedestrian streets, ramparts
and a market. Vannes is in the immediate vicinity of the Gulf of Morbihan and
its 50 islands, regarded as "one of the most beautiful bays in the world". The
towns of Rennes, Nantes, Quimper, Saint-Brieuc and La Baule are less than 1 1/4
hours away by fast roads. Morbihan has numerous beaches and tourist attractions:
the menhirs at Carnac, the sea-water therapy centre at Quiberon, the famous
yachts of Trinité sur Mer and the Rhuys peninsula with the major yachting port
of Crouesty (1000 berths). In the hinterland, many Brittany evenings are devoted
to folklore and historical re-enactments. You will be able to explore
picturesque Breton villages and towns of character, such as Rochefort en Terre,
Josselin, Lizio, la Gacilly, la Vraie Croix, le Gorvello, all of which are only
a few minutes from the Château. Also nearby are the Gulfs of Saint-Laurent,
Baden and Kerver, among the most celebrated in the Region. Essential day trips
would be to Belle-Ile en Mer, Mont St. Michel and Concarneau.
