The Property - This 19th Century chateau is situated on the edge of a small wine producing village in the heart of the Loire Valley. Formerly the home of a wine-maker, the chateau is set in mature and extensive grounds with secure-walled courtyards. The ground floor boasts a large entrance hall, 2 period reception rooms, a dining room and a fully-fitted kitchen. Tiled floors, ornate ceilings and period woodwork ensure the original charm has been retained down the years. On the 1st and 2nd floor there are 7 large bedrooms, 4 of which are en suite. On site facilities include free and exclusive use of a large (12m x 6m) floodlit swimming pool, gym, table-tennis table, badminton court and boules. The Chateau sleeps 14 but for larger groups the farm cottage located in the grounds can accommodate an extra 6 people. It has a large open-plan living area, dining room, fully equipped kitchen as well as 2 double bedrooms, bathroom and family room. Outside there is a paved terrace and BBQ facilities.

Interesting Information - The Loire is a grand and beautiful region.  It boasts an extraordinary array of castles, palaces and fine mansions. In fact, the Loire Valley is so densely populated with these chateaux that when it came to choosing which should be awarded the title of World Heritage Site, UNESCO bestowed the label on the entire valley.  Chateau de Chenonceau and Chateau de Chambord are definitely worth a visit. A very good alternative is to spend your days on the riverbanks (the Loire is often called the last wild river in France) with supplies of local cheese, fruit and wines. The Valley has something to offer all tastes and ages. The rolling countryside offers excellent walking and cycling possibilities as well as water sports, horse riding and golf. The famous beaches of the Vendee are less than 2 hours away. The historic towns of Angers and Saumur offer closer and more lively alternatives.
