Built around
1840, the Château is set on a hillside in 4 acres of partly wooded land with a
picturesque view over rolling farmland to the east. The château has been newly
decorated and simply furnished to allow family and friends to enjoy a relaxing
holiday or special occasion. Delightfully quiet and secluded, the château is
approached by a woodland drive and is just 25 minutes south of the port of
Cherbourg and 50 minutes from Carpiquet (Caen) airport making it easily
accessible by flight or ferry.
The western coast with extensive sandy beaches is 15 minutes drive, whilst the
famous World War II landing beaches are 30 minutes to the east. The historic
market town of St Sauveur le Vicomte dominated by a medieval castle, is 5
minutes drive from the château and provides all amenities. A national forest
with many paths is close at hand.
The chateau has sufficient space for 16 people and comprises:

Linen and towels are provided. There is oil central heating/hot water. A cot and
highchair is provided also.

Barbecue, garden furniture and garden games.
Locally:
The local towns of St Sauveur Le Vicomte (4 km) and Portbail (5km) contain a
variety of supermarkets, bakeries, butchers, and general stores including hair
dressers and garages. Shops are often closed between 12.30pm and 2.30pm in the
afternoon, some shops are open on Sundays. The local Super U is open from 9am on
a Saturday through to 7pm. On all other days it closes for lunch. It is shut on
Sundays. Over the counter drugs, paracetamol, aspirin, etc can be purchased at
the pharmacy in St Sauveur. We would recommend bringing any necessary supplies
of these items with you. Within 20 minutes drive in either direction there is a
variety of good local cafes and restaurants.
