trails. Those visitors with a special interest in French late medieval and
Renaissance art and culture will welcome the opportunity to see in the nearby
Chateau of Angers the famous Tapestries of the Apocalypse and the even more
famous "Mille Fleurs" goblins. Also not to forget are visits to the Romanesque
Churches of St. Martin, the newly restored Abbey of Fontevraud and the Chateau
of Saumur.
Location: The Château lies 20 km south of Angers, 35 km west of Saumur
and 90 km from Nantes, where there is an international airport. From Paris to
Angers takes about 90 minutes by TGV. night in the Château's history, was when
King Henry IV slept here on a journey south. It is through castles such as this,
that the history and culture of the region live on and the the Château offers
you a unique opportunity to experience a part of French life. Having been
meticulously restored, it offers all the modern comforts, while still retaining
its original grandeur. The Château's impressive character is preserved in its
two-metre-thick walls, high ceilings, and seventeenth and eighteenth century
antique furniture. From the Château you can enjoy views over the river and
surrounding countryside.
Banqueting Hall and Kitchen: There is also a separate cosy lounge with
television and video, a library and a fully equipped kitchen for your
convenience. Listening to music on the B&O surround system or life on the
Steinway in the hall is an unforgettable experience. The well-equipped kitchen
lives up to even the most demanding hobby-cook's needs, should you or one of
your friends want to become active culinary. Gourmets, who would like to feast
in the regal ambience of the Chateau, find excellent catering in the "Relais de
Bonnezeau" (details see Guide Michelin), 3 km from the house in Thouarcé, where
there is also a good supermarket and a brand new public swimming pool located
1.5 km from the chateau in Thouarcé, to work it all off afterwards. The Château
has ample living space, both inside and out, to be enjoyed by you and your
guests. The banqueting hall is the showpiece of the property, boasting a
five-metre-long, oak dining table and the largest fireplace in the region.
Suites and Bedrooms: The Château can comfortably sleep up to five
couples. Three of the bedrooms have modern en-suite bathrooms. The 5 bedrooms
take their names from famous visitors of the past. All beds come with
duvets (double bed duvets measure 2.20 x 2.20 m), blankets and sheets are
available for hot summer nights.

Summary: There is approximately 450 m2 of living space, with 5 bedrooms,
sleeping a maximum of 10 people and 4 children. There are 2 bathrooms with tubs

central heating and all bathrooms have floor heating.

heated swimming pool in the area of the dependence of the Château. An English
speaking Swiss couple is living on the estate, responsible for the pool and
garden maintenance, they will be always happy to give you the benefit of their
local knowledge. Breakfast will be available on request. Due to the nature of
the chateau, it is only possible to rent the Château as a whole. This adds to
the tranquillity of its country setting and allows you to have full freedom and
independence during your Loire holiday holiday (max. 10 people and 4 children).
