This lovely old
farmhouse has magnificent views over the Vienne valley, and consists of two
houses around a large courtyard with an 18th century fountain. There is a
swimming pool (4m x 10m). The house is the perfect base to explore the chateaux
of the valley of the Loire. The tennis courts in the village are only 2km away.

Main House
- In the main part of the house is the kitchen (with cellar) which is equipped
with American fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer.
From the kitchen 50m2 you have access to the swimming pool on one side and the
courtyard on the other via French doors. The dining room on the ground floor the
large dining table can comfortably seat 14. The large sitting room (100m2)
features a large stone fireplace and exposed roof timbers. It is very
comfortably furnished with sofas and armchairs and television. French doors lead
from the sitting room to the garden. Also on the ground floor is a bathroom,
with bath and WC. On the first floor above the sitting room is a double bedroom
with double bed. Via the principal staircase you have access to two bedrooms,
each with two single beds, and a bathroom with bath and a separate WC.
Second House - The second house consists of one very large bedroom
with two single beds, one large bedroom with bed, and bathroom with bath, double
wash hand basin and WC. Next door is the glass fronted office, from where stairs
lead up to a mezzanine, with a bed, a large bedroom with king size bed, a
bathroom with shower and WC and a second bathroom with bath and WC. The latter
connects with a bedroom with a childrenšs bed.
Surrounding Area - The property is within 6-10 km's of a number of
villages with all the necessary services. Places to visit in the vicinity
include the Abbey of St Michel de Bois Aubray. Further a field is the splendid
town of Richelieu, that was totally re-planned by Richelieu to accommodate a
court near his chateau. The Grande Rue is flanked by 28 mansions linking two
symmetrical squares. Also of note is 17th century timber market place. Chinon is
worth visiting to marvel at the medieval streets, that remind you of when Joan
of Arc marched through on the way to the Dauphin. There is a steam train that
links Chinon and Richelieu which makes a fun outing. The chateau Amboise has two
large round towers above the river, and to one side there is the Chapel of St
Hubert (where Leonardo da Vinci's tomb is). Also nearby is Azay-le-Rideau, one
of the most beautiful chateaux on the Loire, surrounded by trees and reflected
in a lake. Another jewel is Chenonceaux, with its five arched bridge across the
Cher. Boat trips, son et lumiere and a winery are among a number of
available activities to do and see.
